Little Victoria Wilcher, age 3, suffered a terrible accident. She was horribly mauled by her grandfather’s pit bulls. The resulting attack left her face disfigured and only allows her to eat soft food. Recently, after a scheduled doctor’s appointment, she and her grandmother went to a local KFC. Wilcher ordered mashed potatoes and they sat down to eat. Shortly thereafter, a KFC employee asked her and her grandmother to leave. The KFC employee stated, “We have to ask you to leave because her face is disrupting our customers.”
Victoria left the KFC in tears. “She won’t even look in the mirror anymore. When we go to a store, she doesn’t even want to get out of the car,” said her grandmother, Kelly Mullins. But Wilcher has a Facebook page called “Victoria’s Victories” and the entire incident was posted.
Now KFC has issued an apology stating on the KFC Facebook page: “Update: As soon as we learned of the report on Friday, we immediately began an investigation. This kind of hurtful and disrespectful action would not be tolerated by KFC. Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we have apologized to Victoria’s family and are committed to assisting them. We are making a $30,000 donation to help with her medical bills. The entire KFC family is behind Victoria and her recovery.”
The family has received an outpouring of love and support because of the incident. But they have also has become the victim of scammers. Because the family has appeared on the “Today” show fake Facebook pages asking for donations have been set up. The family is now asking all letters, cards and donations be sent to:
