Mc Donald’s 365 Black Awards Show was held this past weekend during the 20th Essence Festival in New Orleans. The golden carpet was hosted by TV personality Janelle Snowden. This star-studded event featured performances and celebrities in honor of the outstanding individuals who make valuable contributions to the African American community. Hosted by Terrence Jenkins, who looked dashing in a tuxedo and Tika Sumpter, who wore an all-white dress and rocked an adorable pixie cut.
Kevin Lyles spoke to us saying, “That first off we are celebrating 20 years at Essence and the 365 Awards have been a mainstay hear. What I love about the ‘arches’ is what I call them, they are on every corner in America and they have done a tremendous job to employ people. I use to work at Mc Donald’s a long time ago and I appreciate them giving me the opportunity to come here and celebrate with my family.”
Many Mc Donald’s CEO’s and private owner and operators along with a movie producer, Will Packer, motivational speaker, Iyanla Vanzant and more walked the golden carpet. Check them out in the gallery. –joi pearson @joiapearson
