Many couples have arguments and when the guy is wrong, he tries to make up for it somehow. The way Ryan Eddy Watenpaugh, 34, of Redding, California, decided to make up was to cook his girlfriend a delicious meal. The girlfriend sat down to a tasty meal of what Watenpaugh claimed was a pork dish. By all accounts, his girlfriend enjoyed the meal, but her mind was on her missing dog.
Watenpaugh’s girlfriend was missing her Pomeranian dog named Bear, who had been missing for several days. The next day while at work, she received a series of disturbing emails from Watenpaugh, one of the emails asked, “How did your Bear taste?” She left work obviously disturbed and returned home to find a paper bag on her front doorstep. When she opened the bag, she found the severed paws of her dog Bear. She called the police and reported the crime, which shocked veteran police officers.
Police questioned Watenpaugh regarding the messages and the missing dog and he admitted to leaving the paws in front of his ex-girlfriend’s home, but denied anything to do with the dog’s death. He is currently in the Shasta County jail charged with domestic violence, stalking, animal cruelty and imprisonment. In addition, his bail has been set at an whopping $250,000 because of the nature of his crime.
