Tuesday evening, Sept. 16, actress and Atlanta native Chloe Grace Moretz returned to her hometown as host of a special screening of her new film from Sony Pictures, The Equalizer. The VIP advance screening took place at AMC Phipps Plaza in Buckhead and brought out celebrities like Ludacris, “RHOA’s” Claudia Jordan, and “The Bachelorette’s” Andi Dorfman.
Moretz was on hand to introduce the film and spoke about her experience costarring with Denzel Washington in the action thriller, which is directed by Training Day‘s Antoine Fuqua. She also discussed her return to her hometown to begin production on Sony Pictures’ upcoming film The Fifth Wave, based on the best-selling young adult novel of the same name by Rick Yancy. The highly anticipated film is now in pre-production and is expected to film in the Atlanta area through November. The Equalizer will arrive in theaters Friday, Sept. 26.
