A Georgia man has been arrested and charged for exposing a woman to HIV. According to Athens Banner-Herald, Ricky Billings Jr., 53, began a relationship with a 32-year-old woman in the summer of 2013.
They began a sexual relationship in July and soon started to engage in unprotected sex. Billings and the woman had a sexual relationship for three months.
However, Billings never revealed that he was HIV-positive. The woman eventually discovered that Billings was HIV-positive and notified authorities. It’s illegal in Georgia for HIV-positive individuals to engage in unprotected sex without notifying their partner of their status.
She gave the police his address and they arrested him at his home in Athens, Georgia. Billings has been charged with felony reckless conduct.
He is currently out on a $1,000 bond.
