Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida’s marriage has been on the rocks ever since Nida was first charged with bank fraud and identity theft earlier this year. And now that Nida has been convicted and is in prison for his crimes, it seems like Parks has decided not to stick it out with Nida and is finally calling it quits on their marriage.
According to E! Online, Parks’s rep, Steve Honig, says that she “has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage.”
Nida began his eight-year prison sentence a few months ago when he turned himself in to a federal prison in Lexington, Kentucky. Months prior, Nida predicted the end of their marriage during a radio show, explaining that he was mad at Parks for skipping out on his sentencing and saying that he doubted their marriage would last since she was so distant.
However, other sources say that Parks is the one who is fed up with Nida’s antics.
“There was no way Phaedra was going to put her life on hold for the next decade, awaiting Apollo to be released,” said sources back in Septemer. “The marriage was a huge mistake, but did give her their beloved kids. There were serious trust issues with Apollo, and Phaedra suspects he has been unfaithful, and has been burning through money. Phaedra has always been the breadwinner, and she began to resent it.”
Well, it looks like Parks will be free of Nida soon enough, making her the new single lady on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” – nicholas robinson
