Tiffany Y. Mitchell, Ed.D., has taught for Atlanta Public Schools on the elementary and middle school levels for more than 14 years. Her instructional concentration is in language arts with an emphasis on reading, writing and grammar. Additionally, Mitchell extends her commitment to higher education as a professor at Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
Mitchell is a co-founder of ATL Read Inc., a nonprofit focused on bringing excitement to reading and placing a book in every child’s hands.
A graduate of Howard University, Mitchell earned a second bachelor’s from Georgia State University and a master’s in education from Central Michigan University. In 2010, she was conferred a doctorate in education from Argosy University. Married to the president of the Atlanta City Council, Ceasar C. Mitchell, she is the mother of two beautiful daughters.
