On Nov. 24, 2014, the public was informed of the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson for the death of Mike Brown. In response to the decision, the public posted their frustrations on social media for everyone to not support Black Friday unless it was a black business. Minister Louis Farrakhan tweeted “Why should we continue to spend our money when we are deprived of justice? #BlackOutBlackFriday.”
