On Saturday, Dec. 13, 60 middle and high school students from Usher’s New Look headed to the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta to participate in a “Day of Code” sponsored by the School of Computing and the Higher Altitude Foundation. Usher, a national spokesperson this year for the “Hour of Code” campaign presented by Code.org will inspire over 15 million youth nationwide to learn computer programming through this weeklong initiative.
Students from Usher’s New Look will learn how computer science blends beautifully with music and video through harnessing skills they will develop from training sessions on two Web-based coding platforms called Scratch and EarSketch. Students grouped into teams of four to remix beats and then create music animations for a friendly coding competition. –jay w/@forbesbeauty
