Macy’s hosts best in class diversity media partnership celebration

Ed Goldberg, Bill Hawthorne, Maria Rios, Christian Page and members of the Macy’s team hosted a phenomenal holiday event celebrating media partnerships and diversity procurement. The event allowed global media partners including Michelle Eubanks, President, Essence Communications Inc.; Dr. Benjamin Chavis, CEO & President of the National Newspaper Publishers Association; Vicki Free, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer, BET Networks; Michele Thornton, Vice President National Ad Sales, Centric TV; esteemed journalist and Starfish Foundation founder Soledad O’Brien; supermodel and mogul, Beverly Johnson; Kent Matlock, chairman of Matlock Advertising and Public Relations; and Steed Media Group Inc.’s CEO, Munson Steed to network and strategize with top Macy’s executives.


Macy’s showcased not only their commitment to diversity but the company’s entrepreneurial and charitable efforts specifically, The Heart of Haiti program which employs Haitian artisans who create handmade designs sold in Macy’s. In regards to non-profit’s Soledad O’Brien offers, “Macy’s partnership helps me with my foundation [Starfish Foundation]. It’s so valuable.”
