Child found frozen to death

Elijah Marsh on camera

The tragic death of a 3-year-old Canadian child has caused widespread grief. Little Elijah Marsh was being cared for by his grandmother in a Toronto housing complex. Sometime during the night while his grandmother was asleep, he wandered outside clothed only in a diaper, T-shirt and boots.

When the family noticed him missing, they alerted police who reviewed surveillance camera footage and initiated a search. It was reported that several hundred volunteers went into -22 degrees weather to look for the young child. Tragically, Elijah was found frozen to death huddled up to an air conditioner unit just 1,000 feet away from where he got locked out of his family’s apartment. Authorities have stated that he was outside for at least six hours before his body was found. It was determined that his death was accidental.

The family is devastated and a crowd funding site was set up on tilt.com to cover funeral expenses for Elijah. So far, 3,000 people have donated more than $173,000 to the family.
