Perhaps looking to duplicate his Oscar-winning performance as Ray Charles in the 2004 hit, Ray, Jamie Foxx is eyeing another biopic that may soon be coming to the big screen.
In an recent interview with “The Breakfast Club” to talk about his new single, “You Change Me” featuring Chris Brown, the conversation segued into Foxx doing his impression of Mike Tyson which then led to Foxx sharing details of a recent meeting with studio execs about a possible biopic on the boxing legend.
“I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson. So I’m going to do the Mike Tyson story,” he said. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since Raging Bull.”
Though filming has yet to begin, there is speculation that Foxx plans to play both young and present-day Tyson using the same performance-capturing technology used in the film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
