On April 7, Ramona DeBreaux, V-103’s mid-day on-air personality, hosted a private screening of Mo’Nique’s upcoming film, Blackbird, in Atlanta. DeBreaux was joined by the film’s executive producers, Mo’Nique and Sidney Hicks. The Urban Movie Channel and RLJ Entertainment thanked everyone who came out to support the film. DeBreaux also moderated the Q-and-A discussion following the screening. The film stars Academy Award-winning actress Mo’Nique, Isaiah Washington and Julian Walker and was directed by Patrik-Ian Polk.
During several interviews where Mo’Nique has been promoting the film, she has discussed her drama with director Lee Daniels and whether or not she knew she had been blackballed in Hollywood. Mo’Nique did not hesitate to let everyone know that her husband, Sydney,. nor her family have missed any meals and they have been pushing right along in this industry.
However, rolling out will have all the details soon from a one-on-one sit down with Mo’Nique and Hicks. Stay tuned!
