The son of NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor will spend the next decade of his life behind bars for raping two minors.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Lawrence Taylor Jr. was initially arrested in 2013 after he allegedly performed a sex act on a 12-year-old victim while she was at his mother’s home. The girl called police and told them about the sex act while at lunch with Taylor Jr. and another teenage girl.
The other teenage victim also told police that she witnessed Taylor Jr. perform the sex act on her friend and that she also had sex with him. She told police that she had consensual sex with Taylor Jr. five or six times before she turned 16.
Taylor Jr. was arrested in Cobb County, Georgia, and charged with child molestation and rape. He recently decided to enter a guilty plea instead of going to trial. He was sentenced to 30 years and will serve 10 years behind bars.
Taylor Jr.’s father, Lawrence Taylor Sr., also dealt with issues outside of football. He battled drugs for years while in the NFL and was arrested for having sex with an underage prostitute in 2011.
Taylor Jr. gave a speech at his father’s Hall of Fame ceremony in 1999, but he later sold his father’s 1991 Super Bowl in an auction.
