Stand-up comic-turned-TV producer Byron Allen went on a rant during an interview with TMZ for nearly a minute and a half saying, “I am disappointed President Obama called those young men in Baltimore thugs … I am not condoning violence but I don’t think we should call them thugs because we’ve positioned them to fail.”
He accused the POTUS of not acting “like a black man” for refusing to “stand up” for the African American community, which is being “failed by the system.”
Directing his comments to the president directly, he says: ‘You have to remember who you are. Check the numbers. Black people have fallen further behind under President Obama. We are being murdered in the streets. … In the courtroom. … In the boardroom. You have caught the biggest corporations in the world using the N-word. You have to stand up at some point. It’s OK to be the president of the United States and also be a Black man. It’s human. And guess what? People will respect you more if you stop acting like you’re not.”
He adds, “President Obama at this point is a White man in blackface.”
Black people, he concluded, have never been worse off, adding: “Black America would have done much better with a White president. President Obama, you have let us down tremendously.”
We suppose President Obama is the root of systemic racism and if there were a White president in office, Freddie Gray would still be around and the 2015 Baltimore riots would never have occurred, blah-blah!
