Baby showers present a special time when the community gathers to recognize that a baby will soon join a loving family. Brettson Holcomb and Octavia Toliver took a very interesting approach to their celebration by adding a few memorable touches. The expectant parents used class and creativity to capture a meaningful moment.
Guests were greeted and hosts shared their excitement that all in attendance accepted the responsibility of welcoming the coming baby into the world.
The action item for the event was the naming of the baby. Prior to the shower, guests were prompted to propose a name for the baby. This made for a lively discussion and creative session where guests presented selections and seemed to really connect with their role in accepting the new baby.
There was also lots of good food and great fun. There was a catered meal, special cocktails and even a candy bar. The fun could be felt in the baby creative station where guests designed baby bibs.
The wonderful and excited guests were the best part of the celebration. The guest list was a clear sign of the solid group of individuals who will help the parents usher the coming baby through life.
It does not happen often that I attend a baby shower but this one was first class and I learned a lot.
