You just never know who’s gonna pop in on ‘Jazz Night’ at the Hollywood W Hotel on Sunday nights.

A “who’s who” of Los Angeles’ movers and shakers swing through to take in the house band led by stellar vocalist Nikki Leonti or if they’re so inclined: maybe bless the mic themselves.

While in town as part of the cast of the hit stage play Motown The Musical, actress and singer Patrice Covington took the stage and captivated the audience with a sizzling set of soul classics including Aretha Franklin’s “Day Dreaming” and “Rock Steady.” Covington, who recently had the pleasure of singing in front of Motown royalty such as Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson, says everything fell into place to make the evening downright magical.

“Having the chance to grace that stage and play with the band was amazing,” she says. “Everything fell into pocket. The band didn’t miss a note. The audience was engaged. The energy was amazing. It really was one of those nights that singers live for.”

Covington has a forthcoming big announcement regarding her next project alongside a well known fellow singer and actress. Stay tuned into www.patricecovington.com for more info.
