Talented triple threat Brandy Norwood made an appearance at Bryant Park this weekend at an event hosted by NYC’s 106.7 Lite FM. The singer-actress made a splash on the Broadway scene playing the lead role of Roxie Hart in Chicago. She fiercely performed a number from the hit play and garnered cheers and even some tears from her audience.

“I just feel so inspired,” said the 36-year-old about the musical’s impact on her.

Norwood is joining a long list of acclaimed actresses who have brought Roxie Hart to life, including Liza Minnelli, Michelle Williams, Melanie Griffith, Brooke Shields and Renee Zellweger.

“I love Roxie! She’s so emotional, she’s all over the place, so I get a chance to play so many different emotions and dance and sing and act all in one,” Norwood said.

In addition to her lively performance, the actress took pictures with lucky fans.

“It feels really awesome that the fans have been so supportive,” said the actress, who plays Chardonnay on BET’s “The Game.” “My audience has been with me since 20 years ago. They’re open to a new thing with me being on Broadway, so they’ve been out supporting, flying in from all over.”

The last chance to catch Brandy in Chicago on Broadway is on Thursday, Aug. 2.
