Miller Lite Tap the Future Live Pitch Tour made its final stop in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 28 where teams of entrepreneurs pitched their business with the hopes of walking away with $20,000 and advancing to the national finals. Teams took the stage of the Conga Room to impress the audience and a panel of renowned judges, including Daymond John from ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
Five regional teams passionately presented their business, and in the end, it was Michael Fingado and Keoni Ho of Mowdo who came out on top and claimed the $20,000 prize. Mowdo’s objectives are to bring transparent lawn care pricing to nearly 80 million American homeowners with lawns. They seek to help local lawn care businesses grow and thrive in their markets by providing the best lawn care and pricing tools. Pending a background check, Mowdo will receive $20,000 for their business and advance to the final round of Miller Lite Tap the Future to compete for the grand prize of $200,000.
The other teams that competed were:
- Sean Parshad, CrackingCam (Palo Alto, CA)
- Kevin Tubbs and Mathew Eaton, Best Practices Packaging (Wasilla, Alaska)
- Justin Barr, Artbotic (Irvine, CA)
- Carmelo Colon, Limelight Mobile (Berkley, CA)
In addition to Daymond John, the judging panel included Chris Dyer, founder of PeopleG2, Sulaiman Sanni and Ben Lamson, founders of WeDidIt and former MillerCoors business grant recipients. The six finalists are scheduled to advance to the semifinals in Chicago mid-September. For more information, visit MLTaptheFuture.com.- tracy asencio
