Atlanta’s Center for Civil & Human Rights held a welcome reception for Atlanta Black Pride this past weekend. The meetup premiered an HIV/AIDS public service announcement featuring notable Bravo network stars.

The reception — hosted by The Vision Community Foundation, Traxx Girls Inc., and The Gentlemen’s Foundation — included a red carpet with Claudia Jordan of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Derek J and Miss Lawrence of “Fashion Queens,” and others. There were also exhibits from local organizations; free HIV testing; and a live talk show on the topic of gay Black men’s health, hosted by the creators of The Gentlemen’s Foundation, Juan and Gee Session-Smalls.

The special PSA of the evening was promoting the Testing Makes Us Stronger campaign, which encourages gay and bisexual Black men to get tested for HIV. Directed by filmmaker Patrik-Ian Polk (Blackbird), the message included appearances by Jordan and her cast members Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Brandon Deshazer. The men of “Fashion Queens” were also featured.

“Gay and bisexual men may benefit from more frequent HIV testing and should consider getting tested every three to six months,” Moore is shown explaining in the PSA.

After the premiere of the PSA, a Q-and-A session with those who appeared in the ad was conducted.
