Caitlyn Jenner’s groundbreaking reality series, “I Am Cait,” never fell short of garnering rave reviews as it documented her transition into life as an openly transgender woman. However, despite the critical acclaim, the show failed to maintain the massive ratings that many experts assumed it would have throughout its first season. But despite the disappointing ratings, it’s been revealed that the show has been renewed for a second season.
According to BuzzFeed, E! plans to bring “I Am Cait,” which ended its first 8-episode season earlier this month, back next year and a new season of the show could begin airing as early as next March.
As previously reported, “I Am Cait” started off strong ratings wise when it debuted in July with 2.7 million viewers. However, as the season progressed, the ratings continually declined and the season ended with just 1.3 million viewers.
Although the numbers aren’t necessarily bad for a reality TV show, they’re definitely below what’s expected for a show featuring a member of the famous Kardashian family, especially when the show featured dramatic appearances from Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Jenner’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner.
We’re not sure how fans will receive the second season of the show, but we expect it to continue to deliver great stories about the world’s biggest transgender star.
