With the runaway success of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s hit show “Power,” the G-Unit general has found himself to be a highly sought after man in the world of television.
Starz network signed the mogul to a new two-year exclusive premium deal that will see 50 developing new projects via his G-Unit Film & Television brand, as well as continue on as an executive producer on Power.
“Starz has been the perfect partner to make ‘Power’ the success that it is and I am looking forward to developing many more record-breaking series with them,” 50 said.
Since its debut last year, “Power” has rapidly grown in popularity, with some saying it’s even better than Fox’s much lauded ‘Empire.’ The brass at Starz have been pleasantly surprised at the reception the show has garnered and recently green-lit it for 10-episode third season, which began filming in Brooklyn, New York, in early September.
“Curtis is a wonderful hands-on producer and actor on “Power” and we look forward to expanding his roles behind the camera with Starz over the next two years,” said Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik.
Jackson isn’t the only “Power” producer to ink a new deal with Starz.
Show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh signed a deal with the network back in June, and fellow executive producers Gary Lennon, Mark Canton, and Randll Emmett all recently inked new agreements as well.
