Lahoma, Oklahoma, mayor’s husband caught wearing KKK robe

Mayor Theresa Sharp of Lahoma, Oklahoma, is facing backlash after it was discovered that her husband wanted to be a member of the most racist terrorist group in American history for Halloween.

According to reports by WZTV, the incident occurred on Halloween night in Garfield County, Oklahoma. The video shows Cary Sharp, Theresa’s husband, with three other people dressed in Ku Klux Klan’s robes while holding torches and a cross.

Neighbors captured footage of the people dressed in KKK outfits and called police. However, when police arrived, Cary Sharp said that he and his friends thought it would be funny to dress up as members of the KKK and drink beer for Halloween.

Mayor Theresa Sharp apologized for her husband’s actions and said she was trick or treating with her kids when the incident took place.

However, it’s become commonplace for some to use Halloween as an excuse for racist costume choices. KKK outfits and blackface paintings are a passive aggressive way to offend and reveal true sentiments without fear of severe repercussions.

Although there isn’t a great chance that major punishment will be given to the offenders, the D.A.’s office in Garfield County will review Cary’s decision to dress as a member of the KKK.
