The Refinement Group collaborated with Darius Fowler of Exquisite Class and Robert Courtney Collins from the Uneek Clothing Collection to hold their second annual charity event Black Ties Pink Ribbons at Coach Insignia, a stylish steakhouse with romantic vibes and views from the 72nd floor of the General Motors Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.

Darren Brown, one of two CEOs, explains, “The Refinement Group was created to bring back the Detroit Renaissance giving the people of Detroit an opportunity to entertain at an upscale venue, adorn in their finest clothing, and have an unbelievable experience all while contributing to a worthy cause.”

Jamal Bailey of the Refinement group believes that “the city of Detroit is still a place where you can come out, have good, clean fun, and leave with no worries. You can see people dancing in a romantic setting, and networking with other businesses and entrepreneurs instead of hitting the hottest club. These are the types of events that you rarely read about or hear of.”

A portion of the proceeds from Black Ties Pink Ribbons benefit The Pink Fund, a foundation based in Michigan that helps breast cancer patients with financial support, so they can focus on the healing process..

According to the National Cancer Society, as of Jan. 1, 2014, the U.S. has 3,131,440 breast cancer survivors. The Refinement Group joins in the fight to beat breast cancer with their annual charity event.

The Refinement Group holds monthly events that bring professionals, socialites and influencers of Detroit together in a positive way. You won’t see jeans, gym shoes or white T-shirts at these events, but men in tailored suits with colorful ties and women in silk dresses with studded heels. The Refinement Group is dedicated to bringing nightlife and philanthropy together, giving people an opportunity to enjoy themselves, give back to their community, and show the world that beyond what you may hear or see, Detroit is rebuilding itself from the inside out — starting with the people.
