Miller Lite Tap the Future kicked off its fourth year of the Live Pitch Tour. Held at The Hobby Center in Houston, Texas on July 19, the event was hosted by Kenny Burns and featured celebrity judge Damon John who was joined by Sulaiman Sanni and Ben Lamson.

Companies who pitched their business ideas for a chance to win $20,000 included Partake Golf Service, Goefer, Delivery Guardian, and Honeymoon Brewery. When the competition concluded, the judges decided to awarded Ayla Bystrom-Williams with the grand prize. In September, Bystrom-Williams will compete for a chance to win $200,000.

After the competition, John answered questions and gave keen advice about entrepreneurship. “I set a certain amount of goals,” John said. “I have 10 goals and seven of them expire in possibly six months. They range from health, faith, family, to work. Every six month, I reset them. I genuinely don’t get to accomplish them all, but I can reset them. The other three goals are ones that expire in five years. The other in 10, and the other in 20. And then you start to visualize the things. People are more likely to succeed who have written their goals. They are more likely to succeed because they burn them into their head.”

Miller Lite Tap the Future will visit Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles in the upcoming weeks.
