Suge Knight has been in a world of legal trouble over the past year. Not only is he battling a murder case over a fatal hit and run, but he’s also still suing Chris Brown over his claims that Brown is the reason that he was shot at a nightclub in 2014. With so much on Knight’s plate, you’d think he’d be too busy to beef with anyone right now. However, he proved that idea wrong this week when it was revealed that Knight has threatened to sue Lifetime if they bash him in the upcoming Michel’le biopic.
As previously reported, it was announced last year that Knight’s former lover, R&B legend Michel’le, landed her own biopic with the network and the working title for the film is The Michel’le Story. The film will focus on the music and hard times of Michel’le’s life, including the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her other famous ex Dr. Dre.
Former “Lincoln Heights” actress Rhyon Nicole Brown is set to play Michel’le, actor Curtis Hamilton will portray Dr. Dre, and R. Marcos Taylor, who starred as Knight in Straight Outta Compton, will reprise his role in the biopic.
However, it looks like Knight is worried that Michel’le may bash him in the film as well and according to media reports, Knight’s lawyer, J. Tooson, recently sent a warning to Lifetime about what they can and cannot say about him. According to the reports, Tooson told the network that Knight has rights to his privacy that cannot be violated and he warned Lifetime that they cannot in anyway defame his client. If the network doesn’t comply with the warning, Knight will file a lawsuit.
When Tooson was asked why the troubled music mogul didn’t go after the hit NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton this way, Tooson reportedly claimed that Knight was too busy handling his murder case and Brown lawsuit.
Well, that could be hard to do considering that Michel’le has been open about the abuse she suffered from both Dr. Dre and Knight.
