If you live in Atlanta and you are familiar with the young talented comedian, internet star turned actor DC Young Fly, then you certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see him headline a new film. How fitting that the movie, Digital Lives Matter has a direct correlation to his real life as an internet star. It also was a great reflection on the life of co-star Emmanuel Hudson (who plays his genius cousin in the movie as well).
It is a hilarious comedy with a serious message about why you should be nice to your social media followers and why cyberbullying is a no-no.
Special thanks to Coca-Cola for sponsoring the screening at Atlantic Station’s Regal Cinemas and providing the Coke float bar. The Fanta orange and vanilla ice cream float seemed to be the most popular. Several fans received the Coca-Cola swag bag and definitely adding a Coke added a smile to the night’s festivities.
Actress Terri J. Vaughn received her first film director’s credit in Digital Lives Matter and producer-rap artist David Banner received his first producer credit. Banner also was the music supervisor for the film as well. Surprisingly, there was a featured product in the film called twerkbit (that counts how many times you twerk). The surprise is that the app is real and it’s really a new product launch. The producers, Archive Entertainment delivered great talent to the film and the laughter was nonstop throughout the theater during the screening.
Check out the video interview with DC Young Fly after the break. He answers the question of what would he do if he really woke up and all three million-plus of his followers were gone.
