For the second consecutive year, video vixen turned talk-show host, Amber Rose took her slutwalk to the sunny streets of Los Angeles. On Saturday, Oct. 1, the “Dancing With the Stars” contestant, dressed in a sexy all-black, body-hugging number, stormed Pershing Square — slutwalk enthusiasts in tow — all in the name of “women’s equality.”
Of course, the 32-year old was not alone in her cause. The event featured several familiar faces, including Blac Chyna, 28, who is currently expecting a baby with fiancé Rob Kardashian (who was MIA during the event) in a matter of weeks, reality star Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, “Basketball Wives” Angel Brinks and “Vanderpump Rules” star Scheana Shay.
Naturally, whether greeting supporters or flaunting their figures, the ladies made every attempt to be heard — carrying signs reading “don’t tell me to cover up,” and “I’m not a slut, I just crush a lot.” Also spotted? A shirtless man with the words, “Without consent, it’s rape,” painted across his bare chest.
In a brief video posted to Instagram, Rose showed her countless fans holding signs and balloons with “Marching for Muva” written on them. “Epic! #AmberRoseSlutWalk,” she captioned the clip.
Though last year’s walk — seeking to promote female empowerment and put an end to slut-shaming and victim-blaming — somewhat failed to impress, in May, the mother of one told People, “It’s going to be much, much bigger and better.” In fact, the Amber Rose Foundation launched a CrowdRise campaign to help raise funds — to the tune of $21,975. A tactic that proved successful for the self-proclaimed feminist. Did Rose prove all the naysayers wrong? Check out the gallery below and you be the judge.
