Tameka “Tiny” Harris had her game face on at the Adamsviile Recreation Center for tryouts for her coed basketball team, the Atlanta Heirs. BET Network cameras were there to capture all of the action. Harris tapped WNBA player and two-time Olympic gold medal winner Angel McCoughtry to help her decide which players should make the cut.
James Scott, president and founder of the Global Mixed Gender Basketball League, was present as well. He was very impressed with the turnout and skills of some of the players. “Originally it was all about women and men coming together learning to play and recreated with each other. There are no height, weight or location restrictions. As long as you are 18 or over you are eligible to try out. Our teams in other states are doing great. We are in talks with Queen Latifah also about acquiring a team,” he said.
Tiny was not available for an interview, however, Scott was able to give us more info and the voice behind the lens narrated through some of the warm-up activities. After the break, take a look at the clip and photo gallery
