Bun B remains a leading voice when it comes to politics in hip-hop. A video of the legendary rapper using his voice to confront a racist has gone viral.
In the video, cameras follow Bun B as he approaches a White man wearing a pro-Trump shirt. Bun B yelled at the man, “I’ll f— you up” before the two came face-to-face. The two were close to fighting until several men attempted to push the two apart. Bun B warned the others to not touch him. He also told the Trump supporter that he was a professor at Rice University after the man yelled at him, “read a book.” Bun B often teaches a course on hip-hop culture at Rice. He decided to confront the White man after he allegedly gave Bun B the middle finger and made racist remarks.
The incident allegedly occurred when Bun B served as a reporter for VICE news during the 2016 presidential campaigns. Bun B traveled to several Trump campaign stops where the atmosphere often mirrored a KKK rally.
Bun B has yet to respond to the video.
