Rihanna is giving up the New York penthouse at 129 Lafayette Street that she’s been renting since 2013. It’s located on the 11th and 12th floors of a building on the border of Soho, Chinatown and Little Italy. If interested, the four-bedroom duplex, which ended up costing her $50K a month, is on sale for $16.9M. When she moved to New York from Los Angeles, the 29-year-old singer started renting the place from French fashion photographer Antoine Verglas.
The building, once a bookbinders and printing houses, was built in 1911.
Once you exit the secure, key-lock elevator, you step into an immense, concrete floored L-shaped living, dining and entertaining space on the penthouse’s upper floor.
The 4,660 square feet dwelling has a wraparound terrace, chef’s kitchen, a dry bar and views of the iconic Empire State Building from the bathroom. The window sits just above the tub in the corner master suite that boasts a large bedroom with open city views to the north and west and a walk-in closet.
On the lower level, you’ll find an en suite bedroom and two more roomy bedrooms.
