Tennis ace Serena Williams married tech millionaire Alexis Ohanian on Thursday, Nov. 16. They wed at Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans on the birthday of Ohanian’s deceased mother, Anke Ohanian. She succumbed nine years ago to brain cancer.
British designer Sarah Burton, who designed Kate Middleton‘s dress, also designed Williams strapless, belted ball gown that was topped by a lace cape.
The wedding had a Beauty and the Beast theme. The couples first dance was to the tune of the Tale As Old As Time, most notably sung by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, which is the lead single on the soundtrack.
Guests included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, La La Anthony, Meghan Markle, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Anna Wintour and Ciara.
The wedding was followed by a six-hour close-friends-and-family brunch at none other than the boutique Ace Hotel.
