Keisha Lance Bottoms will serve as the 60th Mayor of Atlanta. Bottoms defeated Mary Norwood in a run-off election that took place on Dec. 5.
Bottoms shares her journey of growing up on the West Side of Atlanta, graduating FAMU, working as a lawyer and judge, her service as Atlanta City Council, and becoming mayor.
“The campaign started with a group of women sitting around my kitchen table and discussing what it would mean and how we can do it,” Bottoms said. “My team was the little engine that could. And against all odds we were victorious,”
Bottoms will appear on an upcoming addition of rolling out magazine.
