On Dec. 6, Art Basel was buzzing with news that Leonardo DiCaprio had purchased a painting for $850K. Art Basel is a destination event where celebs, artists, and art enthusiasts join together to celebrate life and creativity. For artists, there is no greater platform to display their works, as a purchase from the right person can lead to instant fame.

For Dutch Masters, a brand whose very name is an homage to master painters Rembrandt, Hals, and Vermeer among others, it makes perfect sense that they would want to invite artists and fans of the brand to an entertaining night of artistry and fun at their “Vibes and Visuals” event.

Hosted by Kenny Burns and DJ D-Nice, Dutch Masters partnered with local curator Brandon Opalka for an exhibition featuring artists Undressed God, Suarezism, Don J, India Idol, 5 Gallons, and Ernest Omaranje, who were invited to show an original piece and charged with creating their take on Rembrandt’s “Syndics of the Drapers Guild.”

Each artist had a different spin, incorporating a Dutch Masters leaf wrapped frames, cigar packaging covered in resin, and mixed media works in a street art style.

While featured artist Fumero worked on a live mural at the entrance, guests enjoyed delicious bites before MC extraordinaire Kenny Burns and turntable master DJ D-Nice turned the gallery exhibition into a house party.
