A Wilmington, North Carolina, woman has turned herself into police after a hit and run video was live streamed on Facebook. Shadasia Ellison, 19, is charged is charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, child abuse, hit and run with injury and reckless driving for running over Tameka Copper, 19, in a dispute over a man.
After the crime, Ellison bragged on Snapchat about the assault. After a warrant was issued for her arrest, she turned herself into police as the video quickly went viral. Ellison, who is on probation for a May larceny conviction in New Hanover County, has several outstanding charges pending against her in five counties, court records show. She is being held in the New Hanover County Detention Center with bail set at $1M.
