BrandU Workshops put on their third annual Brand The Vision: Vision Board party on Sunday, Jan. 21 in Detroit. Founder Brittany Alexis (@iambrittanyalexis) brought over 100 young women together to kick off 2018 among like-minded individuals.

Beauty influencer and self-made millionaire Ming Lee was the featured guest. She led a panel discussion on manifesting your dreams along with Bianca Bee, Danielle Hughes and Gloria Ann. Lee spoke with excitement and positivity, encouraging everyone to manifest the things that they want and put it all out there in the universe. Learning to manage money at a very young age from her Aunt Fran, who raised her in Detroit, she stressed the importance of putting in the work for what you feel like you deserve. With a massive social media following, Lee has solidified her place in the industry as a branding expert.

Rolling out caught up with Lee during the event and here’s what she had to say:

If someone asked who Ming Lee is, with all that you have going on, how would you sum it all up?

If someone asked who was Ming Lee, I’m just a girl that decided to go for it. So, if I can do it anybody can do it.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

My proudest achievement was being able to pay my brothers college tuition, that really meant the most to me, just to be able to provide an education for him really meant a lot to me.

What are three essential qualities needed by an entrepreneur to succeed in business?

I just think as a person you have to have the right mindset, you gotta be fearless and you have to be relentless so that’s the three things I would say it would take to be an entrepreneur and to be successful.

How does it feel being back in your hometown and participating in such a major event?

I’m actually so excited, I absolutely love Detroit and I love to see all these women with all of these dreams and businesses. So I’m really excited and plus I’m excited to eat Detroit food.
