Milk and Cookies, a music and dessert festival, was held in Atlanta on Saturday, April 7. Organized by a group of friends at the Atlanta University Center a couple years ago, this festival has grown to feature national, touring artists and the best local food and dessert selections Atlanta has to offer. They coined the festival’s name based on everyone’s favorite snack pairing: milk and cookies. It’s a cool place to come and hear talented, up-and-coming artists from various music genres. This year’s festival was held at 787 Windsor in Atlanta’s southwest community. This artsy venue allows artist to come and create their own murals, so after every event there is a collection of cool art to commemorate the various events.

Despite the rain and cold temperature, fans came out by the hundreds to see their favorite artists perform and enjoy the vendors. With 10 live performances, eight food trucks, four dessert vendors, and game and art installations, there was never a dull moment.

The festival performance line up included Bae Worldwide with Florista, Tim Gunter, Summer Walker, BOSCO, SahBabii, and Xavier Omår, with headlining performances from Alina Baraz and Tory Lanez. Some of this year’s event sponsors were Hendrick’s Jin, Tiffs Treats, and AT&T.

Festival director Jhordan Gibbs got on the mic and told the crowd, “We are creating a culture of diverse open-minded people who love art, music and unique experiences. Can’t wait to see you all next year!”
