If you’re a shoe fanatic or just looking for something to do this weekend, the H-Town Sneaker Summit is where you want to be.
Rare goods, live music and celebrity appearances are only a few things you’ll find at this year’s Sneaker Summit. In its 15th year, the event has transformed from a small gathering of sneaker-heads into a national spectacle for collectors from across the globe.
Whether you’re stopping by for the first time or going back to relive the experience, here are five things you can do at this year’s summit.
- Buy, sell and trade.
With more than 100 vendors and 1,000 attendees, you’re bound to find something you’d like. Make sure to bring a pair or two to carry around while you search for the perfect set of kicks. If you’re looking to add to your collection, many of the vendors will be accepting both cash and credit cards. Don’t forget to stop by the Trader Pit.
- Sample great food.
This year’s summit will be hosted at Minute Maid Park, home of the 2017-2018 World Champion Houston Astros. Attendees will have access to some of the best food in the stadium.
- Enjoy the party atmosphere.
Each year, the H-town Sneaker Summit gets its fair share of DJs to set the stage. This year, the event will host six different DJs who are sure to keep the party going. The summit will also host a number of contests between sets, so attendees should get there early.
- Bump shoulders with celebrities.
Local celebrities come out each year to show support and meet sneaker-heads from across the world. Artists, including rappers Bun B and Slim Thug, have been major supporters of the event. There will also be a few professional athletes in attendance to soak in what the summit has to offer.
- Experience the culture.
There’s nothing more exciting and nostalgic than the H-Town Sneaker Summit. If you’re not looking to purchase retro kicks or the latest gear, you’ll still be able to enjoy this unique experience.
