The 70th annual Emmy Awards brought out the biggest names in TV on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, to celebrate and honor their work.
This year’s red carpet set the fashion bar high, and Black women slayed in jaw-dropping looks. The variety of their ensembles and evening wear demonstrated that our sisters aren’t afraid of bright colors, big frills and embellishments, massive volume, lively designs and making major statements.
Our favorite, “Seven Seconds” actress Regina King, stole the show with her chartreuse strapless gown.
Here are some of the other best looks and Black girl magic moments from the 70th Annual Emmy Awards.
“Westworld” Thandie Newton looked stunning in her classy one-shoulder pink gown.
“Insecure” star Yvonne Orji rocked a black velvet fitted gown.
“Atlanta” writer Stefani Robinson wore a beautiful pink tulle multi-layered gown accented with an embellished bustier top.
“Black-ish” star Jenifer Lewis made a real statement with her Afro and custom Nike outfit in support of Colin Kaepernick.
“Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross shocked us — in a good way — in her billowing, bouffant fuschia gown.
Ryan Michelle Bathe, an actress and the wife of “This Is Us” actor Sterling K. Brown, looked beautiful in her cream form-fitting gown accented with metallic. This dress screams red carpet glam with the dramatic shoulder accent that takes it to the next level.
