Bad Boys For Life is reportedly on the cusp of being given the green
light by Sony Pictures.

The long-awaited third installment of the money-spinning film franchise, which stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as detectives, has been
talked about for years and has already seen several false dawns.

But according to Variety, production on the sequel could begin in
early 2019, with the film having been handed a tentative release date
of January 2020.

Smith, 50, is set to reprise his role as Detective Mike Lowrey in the
upcoming movie, and while Lawrence has yet to agree to terms on the
project, he is said to be circling the movie.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who previously worked on the FX
series “Snowfall,” are set to direct Bad Boys For Life, with the
two earlier films having been helmed by Michael Bay.

The two previous Bad Boys movies grossed more than $400M
worldwide, but plans to create a third film in the franchise have
faced numerous setbacks and delays.
