Reginae Carter has tossed reality TV to the side in favor of a feature role in a Lifetime movie.

The daughter of rapper Lil Wayne and entrepreneur Toya Wright has landed her first starring role in the upcoming movie Pride And Prejudice: Atlanta. The film is an updated version of the classic Jane Austen novel about a family raising multiple daughters — and all that entails.

To be sure, Carter, 20, will still make brief appearances on the reality show, “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle” with her mother.

In Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta, the patriarch, Mr. Bennet finds himself in a quagmire because his five daughters cannot inherit his property. Bennet and his wife make concerted efforts to get them hitched with a wealthy man who can take care of the family when the parents leave the earth. Carter, the girlfriend of rapper YFN Lucci, is playing one of the daughters.

Carter, 20, was ecstatic as she shared the news on her Instagram page:

Wright shared her excitement for her daughter on Instagram, posting:

This movie differs radically from the original as the cast is comprised of African Americans. Joining Carter on the set will be Reginald VelJohnson — who played Carl Winslow on the sitcom “Family Matters” and starred in the Bruce Willis films Die Hard and Die Hard 2 — as Reverend Bennett.  Jackée Harry — best known for her sassy Mary Jenkins character on “227”  and as Lisa Landry on “Sister, Sister” — will play VelJohnson’s wife.

Carter will play Lydia, and the other Bennett sisters will be portrayed by actresses Tiffany Hines (Lizzie), Raney Branch (Jane), Brittney Level (Mary),  and Alexia Bailey (Kitty). They all have their heart set on Will Darcy, played by Juan Antonio, the new eligible bachelor in town.

Pride And Prejudice: Atlanta will be directed by Rhonda Baraka. As the movie is set in modern-day Georgia, the intra-familial and sociopolitical issues relevant to this generation will replace the narrative from the novel.
