The midterm elections are over, but the politricks continue. Known for calling out corruption, Ice Cube recently dropped “Arrest The President,” the first single off his upcoming album. A lyrical assassin since day one, the hip-hop icon delivers scathing metaphors and outright disses to our current POTUS. This past Election Day, the teaser for the single was posted to Cube’s social media encouraging viewers to pay attention and vote.
Led by daunting horns coupled with a piano and set off by handclaps, “Arrest The President” is produced by Shawn Ski Beats and We Got Hits Productions. The mid-tempo joint will have your head nodding while thinking about the injustices plaguing America. Cube’s no-nonsense flow commands the track as he insists, “Arrest the President/You got the evidence/That n—- is Russian intelligence/When it rains, it pours/Did you know the new white is orange?”
After much anticipation, Cube’s 10th studio album, Everythang’s Corrupt, is due out Dec. 7.
