Fans are perplexed as to why “Love and Hip Hop New York” star Alexis Skyy is on TV stunting hard in designer handbags, shoes and outfits yet is on Medicaid and other government services.

To boot, Skyy’s baby daddy is multimillionaire musician Fetty Wap, 27, of “Trap Queen” and “My Way” fame. How is it remotely possible that Skyy, 24, would have to subsist on government assistance when her former man is a hip hop boss and she is stacking chips on reality TV?

On the latest episode of “Love and Hip Hop New York,” Skyy tried to explain to her fans why she is on medical assistance. She said her daughter Alaiya was born with a regretful assortment of medical complications due to her premature birth that only Medicaid has the capacity to take care of.

Skyy tried to clue the public in on the fact that her daughter’s Medicaid insurance doesn’t work in New York, requiring her to fly back and forth to Atlanta for her daughter to get special treatments, including speech therapy, physical therapy, breathing treatments, and stimulation therapy, some of which are required to keep Alaiya alive.

Skyy also went on her Instagram Live to explain further.

Some fans had a knee-jerk reaction to Skyy’s announcement that her daughter is on Medicaid while conveniently glossing over her explanation. And thus, this explains why Skyy was torched on Twitter:

Some fiercely defended Skyy, explaining that her infant has rare complications that are extremely expensive:

Twitter and Instagram users kept the debate raging about whether Skyy is justified in having her daughter on Medicaid. Check it out:
