Now that he has gotten his walking papers and had time to cool off after going on a profanity-laced tirade last week, the soon-to-be ex-husband of Wendy Williams is finally offering a mea culpa for his recent actions.

In an exclusive interview with The Blast, Kevin Hunter, 47, is now thoughtful and introspective — a radically different reaction compared to his reported volcanic eruption on the set of “The Wendy Williams Show” when Williams served him divorce papers, replete with a gift box wrapped in a bow, Love B. Scott reported.

“Twenty-eight years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams,” Hunter begins, according to The Blast. “At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally.”

Hunter does not address the myriad rumors that he has been cheating on Williams for the past 10 years with Sharina Hudson, that Hudson allegedly gave birth to their love child, that he routinely beat Williams and that he was seen choking her on at least one occasion.

Instead, Hunter chose to apologize without going into detail.

“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs,” he goes on to say, according to The Blast.

Hunter ends by saying he does not know what the future holds for him and his wife of nearly 22 years but that he will work to become a better man.

“No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family (sic), and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you.”

As rolling out previously reported, Williams, 54, filed for divorce on Friday morning, April 12, 2019. This decision to split came shortly after Hunter allegedly admitted he had a secret relationship with Hudson. Williams, of course, already knew of the ongoing affair as she had hired a private investigator back in November to snoop on Hunter.

Williams and Hunter share one child together, Kevin Hunter Jr.
