Media mogul Steve Harvey already had his daytime talk show canceled and replaced by one hosted by singer Kelly Clarkston earlier this year.
Now Harvey, who also hosts “Family Feud” and “Little Big Shots,” has learned that he’s being replaced as the host on the latter show.
According to People magazine, comedian Melissa McCarthy will be the new face of “Little Big Shots” when the show returns this fall.
“Melissa’s just an incredible performer and incredible comedian,” NBC’s co-chairman of entertainment Paul Telegdy said in a statement. He added the mother of two, 48, “will bring a completely fresh perspective to it.”
“Melissa is a strong creative force with her own ideas. Changes will be apparent,” Telegdy added, according to People.
An exact date for the series’ return will be announced in the near future but it is slotted to air at 8 p.m. on Sunday nights next season.
