Rolling out held its Chicago edition of Sisters with Superpowers at the DuSable Museum of African American History on May 30, 2019. Sisters with Superpowers is a celebration of women and their unique and impactful skills that help to shape their city and the world in a positive way.
The room was joyous and celebratory as each honoree received acknowledgement from their peers. Words of inspiration and encouragement filled the room.
We spoke with LaToya Henderson, a human resource specialist for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, about what it means to be a Sister with Superpowers. “For me, being a Sister with Superpowers is pursuing whatever your destiny and vision is and continuing to have perseverance. Not stopping but knowing that you are enough and as long as you have strength in God he will provide the rest,” she said.
