During Essence Festival weekend, Walker’s Legacy and Paypal teamed up to present the “Mimosas and Movemakers” brunch. Held at the Hilton in downtown New Orleans, the event featured a panel discussion hosted by Walker’s Legacy founder Natalie Cofield.
Cofield moderated a panel discussion featuring Miko Branch, CEO of Miss Jessie’s; and Psyche Terry, founder of UI Global Brands. Branch and Terry both shared their stories with an audience of 50 women and revealed how they created successful businesses as female entrepreneurs.
Following the panel discussion, Paypal’s Lybra Clemons, head of diversity and inclusion, shared her thoughts on partnering with Walker’s Legacy.
“This is a conversation we started last month with Natalie, myself and Psyche,” Clemons told the audience. “We were all going to the Essence Festival and wanted to figure out how to make this event happen. I’m so pleased to be a part of a company like Paypal. Every day I learn more about our products and resources.”
Clemons also shared how Paypal offers small business loans from $5K to $500K. Most of Paypal’s business loan applications can be completed online within 10 minutes. Some loans can be processed by the next day.
The “Mimosas and Movemakers” brunch also included giveaways from Paypal, Miss Jessie’s, LAMIK Beauty and Urban Hydration.
