Cardi B put on a great show during brief set

The high anticipation to watch Cardi B hit the stage at Target Center was evident as concertgoers started standing in line three hours before the 7 p.m. show on Saturday, July 27. This was Cardi’s first time performing in Minneapolis. She brought along icy girl Saweetie and Kevin Gates. Cardi is the first female hip-hop artist to sell out the venue.

Wearing a sparkly blue bodysuit and blue hair, Cardi started the show with the tracks “Money Bag,” “Drip” and “Press.” Her choreographed routines with her 10 dancers and pyro effects lit up the stage, while her twerking made the crowd go wild and incited fans to do the same from the floor all the way to the top of the arena. Then she jokingly told the crowd, “I need to slow it down I have asthma and I want to make it to 75.” As she sat down on stage and removed her shoes, Cardi started what she called karaoke night as she sang “Girls Like You,” “Ring,”  “Care For Me” and “Tease Me.” Everyone was out of their seats and her loyal fans screamed and sang the lyrics to every song. Her 50-minute set was brief but fans did not leave disappointed. Cardi is definitely a headliner who can handle a major tour.
