If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about your latest work?
My latest work Making Love Better TwoGether – The Art of Intimacy was a long time coming and I wouldn’t change anything. I am a firm believer that life brings you to something so that you can go through something and then share that something with others.
Describe the process of getting published?
I worked with a publisher, but even with working with a publisher you have to be on top of the following; editing, page count, marketing, plan of action, pre-sales and launch.
What were the challenges in bringing your work to life?
The only challenge in bringing my work to life was being okay with the vulnerable parts of me being exposed. Sharing the ugly parts of me and my experiences in hopes that it would create a conversation that would benefit us as women.
What books have most impacted your life (or life as an author)?
A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and The Alchemist by Paulo Khoelo
What are you currently reading?
I’ve done more podcast series than reading lately. I did thoroughly enjoy Becoming by Michelle Obama.
I’m actually listening to a few podcasts. “Dead Ass with K&D” Khadeen and Devale Ellis, “The Love Hour” with KevOnStage and Mrs. KevOnStage and “The Purpose Potential Podcast” with personal branding strategist Aaja Corrine.
What advice would you give other writers?
Treat your writing like a job, schedule time for writing and then begin to think about building your audience early, and create a marketing plan.
What are your favorite books and why?
As a relationship expert I’m always trying to gain more knowledge to help others with loving self, being open to loving others and of course Making Love Better TwoGether, so my top five are: The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, Touch Me There by Yvonne Fulbright, PH.D. , Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and Before You Do by TD jakes just to name a few.
Please provide three “good to know” facts about you.
I absolutely love to cook. I find it relaxing and it’s an expression of love that I thoroughly enjoy sharing with others.
My first adult career job was in qualitative market research at an advertising agency and the fun fact is that even now I still sit in with entrepreneurs and small businesses on brainstorming sessions to assist in the best practice research methodologies.
Another fun fact is that the Making Love Better TwoGether brand has featured adult novelty toys in our workshops for women, wives and couples for over 1o years.
