Rank these in order of importance while describing your rankings:
Technical proficiency, clarity of vision, personal project investment.
Clarity of vision: This will develop your personal project and help define what you want to capture.
Personal project investment: This goes hand in hand with vision, and you need personal projects every quarter. These are the main things that spark and grow creativity.
Technical proficiency: This is my contradiction because I can be extremely technical and lack on the other two. Why? I have a deep-seated need to understand how something works before I can break it in order to create my vision. Yet, you must still have a clear vision of the next personal project that will help you grow in your skill set.
Who do you consider to be great photographers?
Did I tell you I do a ton of research? Most people of color will say Gordon Parks, then they get lost in translation. Me, I study all genres of photography and not just who the photographer is. No one photographer is totally one-dimensional.
How do they inspire you?
Gordon Parks: His style in fashion in Europe and his street photography.
Richard Avedon: His quest for perfection and always believing he can do it better than the last shot.
Helmut Newton: His belief in business ethics with potential clients.
Then there are too many modern photographers to go through the full list.
